La conferencia de Grace Hopper esta super llena ...Hay en total 1600 mujeres asistiendo a esta. El bolso (cartera) que nos han dado contiene muchos regalitos de las differentes companias que estan apoyando la conferencia. Hasta una bolsa de lavar ropa ...y eso que aun faltan mas regalos ...Veremos que pasa cuando las companias (vendors) comienzen a dar regalos ...

Only 6 days left for 2009 Grace Hopper Conference. I wonder how many new latinas will join Latinas in Computing once the conference over. This is huge...There are so many of us out there !!! My daughter received a scholarship to take a language course at Goethe Institute Berlin in Germany. She spent 21 days in Berlin with other high school students from around the world. Last week, she traveled to San Francisco, CA to attend a youth outreach conference at Stanford University School of Medicine. She has been very busy this summer ... In addition, she was accepted at Rockefeller University's Science Outreach program. The program selected about 20 high school students to participate in a two-week program.

Today, I'm testing a few applications remotely. Too many scripts to validate and test. On another note, I provided my first full draft for review (i.e., Dissertation ). I'm just awaiting for the feedback ... I hope is not too bad. It has been 4 years of consecutive work .....I want to be done with this and dedicate time to my kids. That's it for now. I'll continue updating the status of my dissertation.

Several Lic members had their papers accepted at the GH09 conference to be held in Tucson, Arizona (September 30 - October 3, 2009). The conference theme is "Creating Technology For Social Good". I'll be a panelist in one of the Birds-of-a-Feather sessions so I'm looking forward to seeing many of my colleagues and friends there.
